COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M junior right-handed pitcher Brigham Hill was named to the 2017 Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-America Third Team, the publication announced in a pre-holiday release on Monday.

As a sophomore, Hill went 9-2 with a 2.51 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 97.0 innings. In SEC play, he went 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA and 54 strikeouts over 51.1 innings in 12 appearances, including seven starts.

In 2016, Hill earned All-America recognition from Baseball America (second team) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (third team).

Hill was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 20th round of the MLB Draft in June.

As a freshman, Hill appeared in seven games, including three starts. He registered a 1-0 record with a 5.30 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 18.2 innings.

Texas A&M finished 49-16 last year, finishing 20-10 in the SEC. The Aggies won the SEC Tournament championship and advanced to the College Station Super Regional after winning their eighth regional crown.
