Five Texas A&M seniors, who signed as the No. 2 recruiting class prior to the 2012-13 season, play their final regular season home game at Reed Arena, as the No. 11 Aggies host No. 15 Kentucky in a women's basketball game on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The game is broadcast on ESPN, with Pam Ward and Carolyn Peck on the call. This is the second regular season game in A&M program history to be broadcast by the flagship station, joining the Feb. 7 game earlier this season against Tennessee. The game is also available through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
The Texas A&M Sports Network has the radio broadcast, with Gabe Bock and Tap Bentz taking to the airwaves. The Texas A&M Sports Network is available in Bryan-College Station on WTAW-AM 1620, and on selected other stations throughout the state. Fans can also access the broadcast through 12thMan.com/showcase, or on their mobile devices with the Radio Aggieland app.
A&M's senior class of Chelsea Jennings, Jordan Jones, Rachel Mitchell, Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams has compiled a 96-36 record at Texas A&M, and has made three NCAA Tournaments, won the 2013 SEC Tournament, and reached the 2014 NCAA Elite Eight. The five players have combined for 4,871 career points, and boast at least one player in A&M's career top 10 for points, assists, steals and blocks.
Both teams enter this game on long SEC winning streaks. The Aggies, who have wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament, enter on a six-game winning streak, while Kentucky has won their last five games, and all by double-digits. Makayla Epps leads the Wildcats with 16.4 points per game.
After this game, A&M heads to the 2016 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. A&M's tournament run begins in the Quarterfinals against the No. 7 or the No. 10 seed at 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network on Friday, March 4.
