Former Student-Athletes Recognized with Prestigious Aggie 100 Award
Mar 01, 2016 | General
Four former Texas A&M gridiron greats and two former yell leaders were recently named recipients of the prestigious "Aggie 100" award.
Among those recognized are former football players Chris Valletta '01, Hunter Goodwin '96, Terrence Murphy '05, and Jerry Shults '81, as well as former yell leaders John Magruder '04 and Sam Seidel '02.
Established in 2005, The Aggie 100 identifies and recognizes the 100 fastest-growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led business in the world. This award allows them an opportunity to pass on ideas and wisdom to the next generation of Aggie entrepreneurs. It is presented by the Mays Business School's Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs.
"It's an honor to win the prestigious Aggie 100 award and to be associated with the top Aggie entrepreneurs in the world," said Murphy, who played for the NFL's Green Bay Packers and now runs local real estate company TM5 Properties. "It brings me great pride to be a student athlete and win the Aggie 100 award in our company's first year of eligibility. My biggest vision for TM5 Properties was to follow my passion of being in real estate and to find something that was very similar to being a pro athlete."
