KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 10 Texas A&M softball team dropped game two of its series at No. 17 Tennessee, 11-0, Saturday at the Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
Tennessee (30-10, 9-5 SEC) took an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning. UT loaded the bases on back-to-back walks and a single, before Rainey Gaffin recorded a two-RBI single to left and advanced to second on a fielding error which allowed the third run to score.
The Volunteers added to their lead in the second as Brooke Vines reached on a fielding error, plating CJ McClain. In the third, Gretchen Aucoin hit a three-run homer to left, extending the lead to seven. Gaffin hit a grand slam to right center in the fourth to give Tennessee the 11-0 advantage.
