
CSCAA names 17 Aggies to its Scholar All-America Team

NORFOLK, Va. – Seventeen Texas A&M swimmers and divers received Scholar All-America recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), including nine Aggies that will compete at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials beginning on Sunday.
CSCAA Scholar All-Americans from Texas A&M competing at the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., June 26-July 3 are seniors Claire Brandt, Colleen Konetzke and Meredith Oliver, junior Sarah Gibson, sophomores Lisa Bratton, Jorie Caneta and Caitlyn Moon, and freshmen Lexie Lupton and Claire Rasmus.
Nine Aggies received first-team Scholar All-America honors, which requires a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and for the student-athlete to have participated at the NCAA Championships during the 2015-16 season. Earning first-team honors were Brandt, Bratton, Caneta, Gibson, sophomore Esther Gonzalez, junior Madison Hudkins, Lupton, Moon and Rasmus.
An additional eight Aggies achieved honorable mention Scholar All-America status, which similarly requires a GPA of 3.50 and for the student-athlete to have achieved an NCAA "B" time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet. Earning honorable mention honors were seniors Antoine Marc, Katherine Huff, Konetzke and Oliver, juniors Jacob Gonzales, sophomore Justin Morey and freshmen Mateo Gonzalez and Tiffany Futscher.
