COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Three-time All-American Jackson Withrow advanced to the doubles final of an ITF Futures tournament for the second time in his young professional career. Withrow partnered with Tennessee alum, Hunter Reese, to play in the Canada F7 Futures final in Toronto, Canada last week.
Withrow and Reese topped Jeremy Langer and Antoine Richard, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 [8], in the first round before defeating Martin Beran and Riaan Du Toit, 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. To advance to the finals, Withrow and Reese bested Jarmere Jenkins and Anderson Reed, 6-2, 6-3. In the finals the pair were edged 7-5, 6-4 by Hans Hach and Rhyne Williams.
Withrow has made waves on the professional circuit after reaching the 2016 NCAA Doubles Championship match alongside Arthur Rinderknech. The Omaha, Nebraska native has tallied wins at the USA F26 Futures, Binghamton Challenger, Winnetka Challenger and USA F23 Futures to go along with the doubles title at the USA F25 Futures in Edwardsville, Ill., alongside Connor Smith.
Withrow's former teammates are looking forward to another successful year after the team finished the 2015-16 season ranked No. 14 in the ITA poll. The Maroon and White return to the courts this fall with an impressive slate of tournaments including the ITA All-American in Tulsa and ITA Indoor Championships in New York.
