Aggies Receive PrepVolleyball.com Postseason Honors

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Several members of the Texas A&M volleyball team were recognized in PrepVolleyball.com's recently announced list of postseason awards. Aggie setter Stephanie Aiple, middle blocker Kaitlyn Blake and outside hitter Kiara McGee were named Honorable Mention All-Americans at their respective positions, and Texas A&M outside hitter Hollann Hans was named All-Freshman Team Honorable Mention.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Several members of the Texas A&M volleyball team were recognized in PrepVolleyball.com's recently announced list of postseason awards. Aggie setter Stephanie Aiple, middle blocker Kaitlyn Blake and outside hitter Kiara McGee were named Honorable Mention All-Americans at their respective positions, and Texas A&M outside hitter Hollann Hans was named All-Freshman Team Honorable Mention. 

Aiple, a junior who started every match and played in all but one set this season, averaged 10.85 assists per set and directed an Aggie offense that ranked 11th in the nation and finished second in the Southeastern Conference with 14.39 kills per set. A member of the All-SEC Team, the Round Rock, Texas, native also commanded the Aggies to a .259 hitting percentage, the eighth highest team season hitting percentage in program history.
 
Blake, a sophomore from Allen, Texas, led the SEC and ranked seventh in the nation with 1.52 blocks per set, the fourth highest block average in Texas A&M history. A member of the All-SEC Team and a two-time SEC Player of the Week, Blake's 164 total blocks ranks fourth in the A&M all-time season records, and her 145 block assists ties for third all-time.
 
Blake finished second on the team with a .361 hitting percentage while averaging 2.41 kills and 3.37 points per set.
 
McGee led the Maroon and White with 334 total kills and 3.15 kills per set for the full season while hitting .224. She was second on the team with 3.45 points per set and tallied a team-high 365.5 points overall. The junior from San Antonio ranked second on the team with 18 double-digit kill performances.
 
Hans was the American Volleyball Coaches Association South Region Coach of the Year after leading the Aggies with 3.57 points per set and finishing second on the team with 280 total kills and 3.08 kills per set for the full season. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native, who posted double-digit kills in a team-leading 19 matches, also led A&M, ranked ninth in the SEC and led all freshmen in the SEC with 0.26 aces per set in all matches.

Texas A&M finished the season 21-9 after advancing to the first round of the NCAA Championship. It marked the Aggies' sixth consecutive and 20th overall NCAA tournament appearance under 24th-year head coach Laurie Corbelli, making A&M one of only 14 teams in the nation that has made at least 20 NCAA tournament appearances since she was hired in 1993.
