COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M women's tennis team is picked to finish seventh in the Southeastern Conference this season, according to a preseason poll of the league's head coaches and announced today by the conference office.

Florida, the defending SEC tournament and regular season champion, is picked to repeat as the conference champion, according to the preseason poll which is based on a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote. The Gators, who went undefeated in SEC matches last season, are also No. 1 in the Oracle/ITA preseason national team rankings. They take on the Aggies at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station on Sunday, March 5.

Georgia, 2016 NCAA tournament semifinalist Vanderbilt, Auburn, South Carolina and LSU complete the top six teams in the SEC preseason poll. Kentucky is picked to finish eighth and is followed by Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Arkansas. The top 11 teams in the preseason poll all advanced to the NCAA tournament last year.
