Aggies Announce Spring Playing Dates

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Soccer announced its spring slate on Tuesday with five playing dates scheduled for Ellis Field.
 
"We're excited for this spring," Texas A&M head coach G Guerrieri said. "We are in a situation where we can take a real leap forward. The spring is the time of year where we pay special attention to the development of our players. We have a fantastic group of returning players from our 2016 team and also have six outstanding newcomers on campus as early enrollees. This semester is a great opportunity for us to challenge and grow these players into a great team for 2017."
 
The spring session kicks off on Friday, February 17 as the Aggies host Incarnate Word in an 8 p.m. contest. Eight days later the Maroon and White host Rice in a 7 p.m. match on Saturday, February 25.
 
The Aggies will match up with 2016 NCAA Tournament foe TCU on Saturday, March 25. Texas A&M won the November contest, 1-0, in Fort Worth.
 
April has two events scheduled, with the highlight coming on Thursday, April 6 as the Aggies host the Houston Dash of the NWSL in an 8 p.m. match. On Sunday, April 2 the Aggies host Stephen F. Austin in a 1 p.m. match.
 
All spring soccer matches are free to the public.
 
Texas A&M wrapped up the 2016 season with a 12-8-2 mark. The Maroon and White earned a bid to their 22nd consecutive NCAA Championship and advanced to the second round of the tournament for the 19th straight season.
