TUSCON, Ariz.  Darkness suspended play during the second round of the Arizona Intercollegiate on Monday evening at Sewailo Golf Club with the Texas A&M men's golf team sitting in seventh place.

The Aggies were on their final five holes of the second round and at 30-over par for the event when play was halted, leaving Texas A&M 14-shots back of leader Oregon (+16) overnight.

"Today wasn't a great showing and needless to say we're pretty disappointed," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "The conditions were pretty tough, the wind blew in sustained gusts about 20-25 miles per hour pretty much the entire day.  It wasn't easy but at the same time when you get conditions like that, you have to match them with your own toughness, intensity, effort and attitude. We just weren't up to that today. We're disappointed because we expect more out of ourselves and are better than we showed."

In the individual standings, junior Andrew Paysse (+6) is the highest-ranking Aggie on the leaderboard with a share of 16th place while sophomore Chandler Phillips (+8) stands in 26th.

Leader Wyndham Clark of Oregon paces the tournament as the only player in the field below par at one-under.

Aggie sophomore Brandon Smith (+10), meanwhile, holds a share of 40th while sophomore Cameron Champ (+11) and newcomer Dan Erickson (+11) are a shot back in a tie for 45th

"We need to come out tomorrow with a lot more energy, regardless of the conditions," Higgins added. "We're here to compete and represent Texas A&M a little bit better than we did today"

Play will resume at 8:45 a.m. (CT) Tuesday morning. Live scoring and results can be found on golfstat.com and as well as live updates via twitter at @AggieMensGolf.
