COLLEGE STATION – The second-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team hosts No. 8 South Carolina in the squad's first conference meet of the spring on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Admission to the meet is free.

"We are looking forward to hosting our first SEC meet of the semester," head coach Tana McKay said. "South Carolina is always a tough test, so we have to be prepared. We have had a good week of practice, and I am excited to see how we come out and compete."

The Aggies (6-2, 2-1 SEC) are coming off an 11-9 victory at SMU on Feb. 4. Against the Mustangs, the Maroon and White swept Horsemanship, 5-0, and won Reining, 3-2, but fell in Equitation over Fences, 4-1, and Equitation on the Flat, 3-2.

South Carolina enters the contest with a 4-4 (1-3 SEC) record and are coming off a 14-6 win against Delaware State in Bishop, Ga., on Feb. 4.

The two teams previously squared off on Sept. 30 in South Carolina where the Aggies prevailed, 10-8. Junior Alex Desiderio led the Aggies in Flat, earning MOP honors while sophomore Sarah Orsak helped Horsemanship shutout the Gamecocks, 3-0, with a 74.5-73.5 victory and was named MOP.
