THE WOODLANDS, Texas- Maddie Szeryk sits in a tie for the lead after two rounds of The Dickson shooting nine-under to lead the No. 17 Texas A&M women's golf team on Monday at the Woodlands Country Club. The Aggies are tied for fourth in the team standings.

"The team did an excellent job of battling back to put up some very respectable scores today," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "I'm proud of Maddie Szeryk, who played extremely well today to get to the top of the leaderboard."

Szeryk's day begun with a seven-under opening round, tying her for the second best round in school history. The junior now owns five of the top-nine rounds in school history. In the second round, Szeryk held steady, shooting two-under. The nine-under performance is the best in program history through 36 holes. Szeryk shares the lead with Morgane Metraux of Florida State, who bested her by two strokes to win the Florida State Matchup two weeks ago.

In a loaded field that features nine top-50 teams, the Aggies (+1) shot a one-under 287 in the first round and a two-over 290 in the second round, good for a share of fourth place. At the top of leaderboard, Florida State (-21) has a 15-stroke advantage on the rest of the field.
