Davis Named to USBWA All-District VII Team

Texas A&M sophomore Tyler Davis was honored Tuesday as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) released its 2016-17 Men's All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus.

ST. LOUIS – Texas A&M sophomore Tyler Davis was honored Tuesday as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) released its 2016-17 Men's All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus.
 
Davis garnered a spot on the All-District VII Team alongside District VII Player of the Year Johnathan Motley of Baylor and District VII Coach of the Year Tim Jankovich from SMU.
 
The Plano, Texas, native, who was named SEC Player of the Week on Dec. 12, paces the SEC and ranks 14th nationally in field goal percentage by converting 62.1 percent of his shot attempts. Davis averages 14.0 points per contest this season to rank 13th in the SEC and pulls down 6.9 boards per contest, checking in at eighth in the conference in rebounding.
 
The 6-foot-10 center has carded four double-doubles this season and was also named to the All-SEC Second Team on Tuesday.
