Four Texas A&M swimmers earn NCAA Championship invitations

Four Texas A&M swimmers have earned qualification to the 2017 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, which will be contested March 22-25 in Indianapolis, Ind., the NCAA announced on Wednesday.

Four Texas A&M swimmers have earned qualification to the 2017 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, which will be contested March 22-25 in Indianapolis, Ind., the NCAA announced on Wednesday.
 
Receiving invitations to the national meet were senior Cory Bolleter (San Antonio, Texas) and juniors Brock Bonetti (Bakersfield, Calif.), Mauro Castillo-Luna (Zacatecas, Mexico) and Jonathan Tybur (The Woodlands, Texas). Bolleter will compete in the 100 and 200-yard freestyles, Bonetti will race in the 100 and 200 backstroke, Castillo-Luna will see action in 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM, and Tybur will compete in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
 
The four swimmers joined a pair of Aggie divers that had already guaranteed their spots at the NCAA Championships – junior Tyler Henschel and sophomore Sam Thornton. Additionally, the Aggies, who are qualified in the 200 and 400 free relays and the 200 and 400 medley relays, will take four relay-only swimmers: seniors Turker Ayar and Jacob Gonzales and freshmen Adam Koster and Raiz Tjon-A-Joe.
