BANDON, Ore.  The Aggie men's golf team climbed one rung on the leaderboard Monday at the Bandon Dunes Championship, owning a tie for fourth place among the 16-team field after 36 holes of competition.

"We played pretty solid golf today, even though the conditions were much tougher," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "The wind picked up and it was cool and damp, which is kind of what we thought we'd get when we came up here. Looking back at the day, there were a few too many bogies and shots given away on unforced errors. Overall, to have the three guys in the top 11 playing pretty solid golf, I'm very pleased with them. If we can get somebody else to throw in a good score tomorrow, we'll have a chance to finish with a pretty good tournament."

Texas A&M (286-289=575, -1) was just one-over par as a team during the second round to remain among the contenders chasing team-leader Oregon, which sits at 16-under par. The Aggies haven been impressively consistent this season and have finished no lower than fifth in any tournament.

Junior Cameron Champ (68-71=139, -5) highlights the Aggie trio near the top of the leaderboard. The Sacramento, Calif., was three-under on the back nine Monday to finish the day in fourth place and in the hunt for medalist honors, trialing Texas Tech's Hannes Ronneblad (-8) by just three strokes.

Joining Champ in the top 10 of the player standings was fellow junior Kavan Eubank (69-72=141, -3) who carded an even par round to finish the day with a share of eighth place. Meanwhile, sophomore Chandler Phillips (72-70=142, -2) enjoyed the Aggies' best round of the day with a two-under 70 to climb just outside the top 10 into a tie for 11th place.

Sophomore Max Miller (77-76=153, +9) and freshman Dan Erickson (79-76=155, +11) rounded out the A&M contingency in ties for 67th and 76th place, respectively.
