No. 16 Women's Golf Heads To Hawai'i For Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

The No. 16 Texas A&M women's golf team heads to the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kane'ohe, Hawai'i on March 14-15. An Aggie has won individual honors at the event in each of the last two seasons, with Thanya Pattamakijsakul looking to defend her individual title from a year ago.

The No. 16 Texas A&M women's golf team heads to the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kane'ohe, Hawai'i on March 14-15. An Aggie has won individual honors at the event in each of the last two seasons, with Thanya Pattamakijsakul looking to defend her individual title from a year ago.
 
The Aggies are one of 16 teams in the field at the par 72 / 6,099 yard Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course. The No. 16 Aggies are joined by four more Top 25 teams in the field, with No. 13 Wake Forest, No. 19 Oklahoma State, No. 21 Texas and No. 24 NC State competing. Rounding out the field are hosts Hawai'i, Ball State, Georgia State, Hawai'i-Hilo, Idaho, New Mexico, North Carolina, SMU, Texas State, UTEP and Washington State.
 
Pattamakijsakul won the individual title as a junior in 2016, shooting an 8-under 208, defeating teammate Bianca Fabrizio and Maddie McCrary of Oklahoma State by three strokes. Marijosse Navarro of the Aggies won the event in 2015 with a 3-under 213.
 
The tournament features 36 holes on Tuesday and 18 on Wednesday. The four best scores each day from each team's five-person lineup count towards the team total. The Aggies tee off at 8 a.m. HT/1 p.m. CT in a shotgun start.

The Aggies have finished in the Top 6 of every tournament they have competed in this season, and have shot under par in 10 of their 16 rounds this season. Maddie Szeryk ranks second in the SEC with a 69.94 stroke average and teammate Bianca Fabrizio is fourth at 70.88.
