COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies earned a 3-0 victory over Moravia, 3-0, Thursday evening in Costa Rica.
Moravia is the nation's top club, winning the inaugural UNCAF Women's Inter-Club Championship last May, along with the 2016 Costa Rican Apertura title last September.
The Aggies got goals from Mikaela Harvey, Claudette Lassandro and Cienna Arrieta in the victory. Texas A&M overwhelmed Moravia in the first half, owning edges in shots (9-1), shots-on-goal (5-1) and corner kicks (3-1).
The Maroon and White broke the scoring seal in the 10th minute when Harvey got a pass from Ally Watt 10 yards out and sent it into the goal for the 1-0 lead.
Lassandro scored her third goal on the Costa Rica trip as her corner kick offering found the far netting in the 37th minute.
The Aggies capped off the scoring in the 41st minute. Arrieta scored from 18 yards out on assists from Quinn Murphy and Abby Grace Cooper.
Texas A&M didn't score in the second half, but kept the pressure up. The final tallies all favored Texas A&M, including edges in shots (19-3), shots-on-goal (7-2) and corner kicks (4-2).
Cosette Morche posted her fourth consecutive shutout in the spring slate, making two saves in the victory.
This spring, the Aggies have outscored opponents 18-0.
Texas A&M returns to action Saturday, March 25 as they host the TCU Horned Frogs in a 5 p.m. contest at Ellis Field.
