COLLEGE STATION—The Texas A&M football team will join thousands of other Aggie students taking part in The Big Event.
The Big Event is the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation and is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 25. Due to the Aggie football team having meetings and practice scheduled for Saturday, the team will participate on Friday, Mar. 24 with a service project to benefit Twin City Mission. The team will depart the Bright football complex at 4 p.m.
"I am proud of The Big Event and the opportunity it gives our student-athletes to give back to our community," Aggie head football coach Kevin Sumlin said. "Although we can't participate on the actual day of The Big Event, we look forward to helping with projects that will benefit Twin City Mission and the families they assist."
In addition to giving of their time, Aggie football players have also donated money to help build a playground and purchase other items of need for Twin City Mission.
The message of The Big Event is simply to say "Thank You" to the residents of Bryan and College Station. The Aggie football team is proud to participate and show appreciation of this great community.
