SUNSET, S.C.- Maddie Szeryk shot a 1-under 71 to sit in a tie for seventh after the first of three rounds at the Clemson Invitational. The Aggies shot a 13-over 301 on the day to sit in 12th.
Szeryk, who has shot par-or-better nine times in 10 rounds this spring, is three strokes behind tournament leader Alice Chen of Furman, who shot a 4-under 68. Furman leads the tournament overall at 285 (-3).
Bianca Fabrizio shot a 2-over 74 to tie for 27th at the par 72 / 6,260 yard course at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. Andrea Jonama shot a 5-over 77 to tie for 62nd and Courtney Dow shot a 7-over 79 to tie for 80th. Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot an 11-over 83 to tie for 91st.
The Aggies return to the course at 7:45 a.m. CT for the second of three rounds of the tournament.
