Aggies Hold at No. 7 in ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Arizona – The Texas A&M men's tennis team maintained the No. 7 ranking in Tuesday's edition of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I National Team Rankings. Riding a nine-match SEC winning streak, the Maroon & White improved to 16-4 this season with a 9-0 SEC record after tallying wins over Ole Miss and Arkansas last weekend.

TEMPE, Arizona – The Texas A&M men's tennis team maintained the No. 7 ranking in Tuesday's edition of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I National Team Rankings. Riding a nine-match SEC winning streak, the Maroon & White improved to 16-4 this season with a 9-0 SEC record after tallying wins over Ole Miss and Arkansas last weekend.
 
Texas A&M has been ranked in Top-25 during nine of the 11 rankings published this spring and 73 of the last 75 polls, dating back to Jan. 22, 2013. Joining the Aggies in the Top-25 from the SEC are No. 13 Georgia, No. 14 Florida, No. 18 Mississippi State, No. 20 South Carolina and No. 23 Kentucky. The SEC leads the NCAA with six teams among the Top-25, the Big 12 and Pac-12 tie for second with five teams each.
 
The Maroon & White continue to have a trio of ranked singles players, headlined by No. 8 Arthur Rinderknech. The Frenchman owns a 21-7 record this year including a 12-4 dual tally and 13 victories over ranked opponents. Joining Rinderknech are No. 116 AJ Catanzariti and No. 119 Jordi Arconada. Arconada is riding a 15-match win streak including a team-high eight clinch victories. The Argentinian top No. 26 Jose Salazar of Arkansas to secure the team win over Arkansas, his highest ranked win of the season. Catanzariti has won two straight matches to improve to 5-3 in league play after claiming a career-high triumph over No. 25 Ryotaro Matsumura of Kentucky three weeks ago.
 
Texas A&M will take to the road next weekend, taking on No. 18 Mississippi State Friday followed by a Sunday match-up at Auburn.
