COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M Equestrian team had six riders named National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-Americans, the NCEA announced Thursday.
The Maroon & White earned three first team awards from junior Rachael Hake in Equitation over Fences and senior Kaci Fisher and junior Avery Ellis in Horsemanship. Junior Madison Bohman earned second team honors in reining, while senior Sarah Kate Grider and sophomore Haley Franc were named honorable mentions.
Hake finished the season on a seven-meet win streak with a 12-2 record overall, while going 7-1 in SEC competition. Ellis claims a 10-3-1 mark with four MOPs, while recording ten consecutive wins ranging from Oct. 15-March 11. In her senior season, Fisher scored 73.09 on average, while Ellis averaged a 74.125 per competition.
In Reining, Bohman tallied four MOPs, while holding a 9-4-1 mark. Franc and Grider also notched nine wins apiece to earn themselves a spot on the honorable mention list. Franc held the best record, 9-3, for the squad, while going undefeated at the SEC Championships. Grider (9-5) recorded five wins against SEC competitors and earned an MOP against South Dakota State.
