Texas A&M’s Henschel leads Aggies’ All-SEC honorees

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M junior diver Tyler Henschel earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors to highlight the Aggie men's team's representation on the 2017 SEC Swimming & Diving Awards, the conference office announced on Thursday.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M junior diver Tyler Henschel earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors to highlight the Aggie men's team's representation on the 2017 SEC Swimming & Diving Awards, the conference office announced on Thursday.   
 
Henschel, from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, earned first-team honors for his victory in the three-meter dive at SEC Championships last month and he also finished in the top three in the one-meter dive and platform dive at the meet. Henschel went on to earn All-America honors in all three dives at the NCAA Championships, including first-team honors in the platform dive.
 
Joining Henschel on the elite squad were Texas A&M seniors Turker Ayar and Cory Bolleter and juniors Brock Bonetti and Mauro Castillo Luna, who were named to second team. The foursome placed third in the 200-yard medley relay at the SEC Championships with a school record time of 1:23.91.
