Women's Golf 4-Under At SEC Championship Through Two Rounds

HOOVER, Ala.- The No. 20 Texas A&M women's golf team is 4-under at the 2017 SEC Women's Golf Championship. The Aggies shot a steady 2-over 290 in the second round for fourth place, heading into Sunday's final round.

HOOVER, Ala.- The No. 20 Texas A&M women's golf team is 4-under at the 2017 SEC Women's Golf Championship. The Aggies shot a steady 2-over 290 in the second round for fourth place, heading into Sunday's final round.
 
"We got started a little bit rough, and got frustrated early," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "That's the beauty of this team, they really battled and you could see that on the back nine, they hunkered down and played the best that they could play."
 
Texas A&M sits at 572 (-4) for the tournament after two rounds at the Greystone Golf & Country Club, eight strokes back of first place Florida. The Aggies led the tournament after the first round.
 
Maddie Szeryk leads the Aggies individually, shooting a team-best 1-under 71 on the par 72 / 6,190 yard course on Saturday. Szeryk is tied for fifth at 140 (-4) for the tournament, and is looking for her third straight top 10 finish at the SEC Championship. Szeryk is four strokes behind tournament leader Harang Lee of Georgia.
 
Bianca Fabrizio shot an even-par 72 in the second round, bringing her total to 142 (-2). Fabrizio, the 2015 SEC Individual Champion, is in 10th place.
 
Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot a 1-over 73 on Saturday, bouncing back from a 3-over front nine to post a bogey-free 2-under on the back nine. Pattamakijsakul is tied for 23rd at 145 (+1) for the tournament. Andrea Jonama shot a 2-over 74 to move into a tie for 47th at 150 (+6) and Courtney Dow shot a 4-over 76 to sit in a tie for 30th at 147 (+3).
