COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Texas A&M men's golf team was selected as the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Regional in Sammamish, Wash., the selection committee announced Thursday while revealing the complete field for the 2017 Men's DI Golf Championships.

The Aggies will be playing in their 14th NCAA Tournament in the past 15 seasons as well as their 43rd overall showing in the NCAA field. Play at the Sammamish Regional will take place May 15-17 on the Aldarra Golf Club.

"We feel really good [heading into regionals]," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "After we lost at LSU it really woke the guys up and made them realize some flaws, not just physically but in our routine. They really showed up at the SEC Championship; were really focused and determined. If we play that way at regionals, we're a tough squad to beat. We're excited for the opportunity"

Southern California is the top seed among the 14-team regional field in Sammamish, followed by Kent State, Texas A&M, Florida State, Washington, Alabama, San Diego State, UTEP, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Seattle, Marquette and Bryant.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes of stroke play, with 18 holes each day. The top five teams in the regional advance the NCAA Championship, scheduled for May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms Sugar Grove, Ill.

Additionally, the highest-placing individual who is not a member of an advancing team will also earn a trip to Illinois.

Led by first team All-SEC performers and Nicklaus Award Semifinalists Cameron Champ and Chandler Phillips, Texas A&M enters the postseason ranked No. 13 in both the most recent Golfstat Rankings. The Aggies have been strong all season, finishing fifth place or better in 11 of 12 tournaments while competing against some of the top competition in the country.

Five other sites will host regionals, including the College Grove Regional (The Grove, Murfreesboro, Tenn.), West Lafayette Regional (Kampen Course, West Lafayette, Ind.), Stanford Regional (Stanford Golf Course, Stanford, Calif.), Austin Regional (University of Texas Golf Club, Austin, Texas), Baton Rouge Regional (The University Club, Baton Rouge, La.).

A&M is one of 12 SEC schools to make the field, joining Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
