Texas A&M swimmers lower three Mexican national records

ATLANTA – Texas A&M swimmers lowered a trio of Mexican national records at the Arena Pro Swim Series of Atlanta last weekend at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the Georgia Tech campus. 
Taking down Mexican national records were sophomore Monika Gonzalez-Hermosillo from the Aggie women's squad and junior Mauro Castillo and sophomore Angel Martinez from the men's team.
 
Gonzalez-Hermosillo, from Mexico City, Mexico, set the Mexican record in the women's 200-meter IM with a time of 2:14.40 while taking runner-up honors in the race in Atlanta. Castillo, from Zacatecas, Mexico, lowered the men's 200-meter breaststroke record to 2:12.94 while placing fifth in the race. Martinez, from San Nicolás de los Garza, Mexico, took down the men's 200 IM record with a time of 2:02.31 in the prelims and then placed fourth in the final in 2:02.99.
