COLUMBUS, Ohio- Maddie Szeryk fired a 2-under 70 on Tuesday and sits in first place of the NCAA Women's Golf Columbus Regional after the second of three rounds. The sixth-seeded Aggies are at 33-over 609, and rank in seventh place. The top six teams, and the top three individuals not on an advancing team, qualify for the NCAA Championships in Sugar Grove, Ill.
Szeryk leads the tournament with a 1-under 143 through two rounds on the par 72 / 6,416 yard Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club. Szeryk, who is vying to be the first Aggie to win an NCAA Regional since Katerina Ruzickova in 2012, has a two stroke lead over Michigan's Elodie Van Dievoet and Ohio State's Jaclyn Lee, who are tied for second at 1-over for the tournament.
The Aggies shot a 13-over 301 on Tuesday and are two strokes behind Purdue for the final team berth to the NCAA Championships. Florida leads the tournament with a 14-over 590, followed by Ohio State (+15), Florida State (+21), South Carolina (+22) and Michigan (+29).
Bianca Fabrizio shot a 4-over 76 on Tuesday, and is at 154 (+10) for the tournament, tied for 37th place. Courtney Dow shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 46th at 155 (+11). Thanya Pattamakijsakul is tied for 57th after shooting a 5-over 77 on Tuesday to move to 157 (+13) for the tournament. Andrea Jonama carded a 6-over 78 and is tied for 61st at 158 (+14).
