COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M will have 45 athletes competing in the NCAA West preliminary rounds in Austin next week, while one Aggie, Lindon Victor, has already qualified for the NCAA Championship field in the decathlon.

The first and second rounds of the NCAA Championships will take place next weekend, Thursday, May 25, through Saturday, May 27, at Myers Stadium where the field of 48 entrants in each individual event, along with a field of 24 relay teams in the 4x100 and 4x400, will be trimmed down to fields of 12 that will advance to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Championship weekend.

Texas A&M will have a total of 52 entries, 26 each for the men and women, in Austin with the nationally-ranked No. 1 Aggie men totaling 23 athletes in 18 events while the No. 4 Aggie women have 22 athletes in 14 events.

Victor is the collegiate record holder in the decathlon with 8,539 points and the defending NCAA champion. He headlines a field of 24 decathletes who have qualified for the NCAA Championship weekend.

All-session tickets for the three days of the NCAA West meet are $35 for adults, $25 for students (with valid student ID) and $25 for youth (17 and under). Single day tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and youth. Children 2 years and under are admitted free.
