SUGAR GROVE, Ill.- Texas A&M junior golfer Maddie Szeryk competes for an individual national championship starting Friday at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.

Szeryk, a three-time All-SEC First Team Selection, qualified for the championship with a 6-over 222 to finish 10th at the NCAA Columbus Regional. Szeryk, with a 70.87 stroke average on the season, is on pace to set the Texas A&M single-season record and currently holds the sixth-best stroke average in Division I history.

Szeryk tees off at 1:25 p.m. on the par 72 / 6,343 yard course at Rich Harvest Farms. The 72-hole tournament, which runs from May 19-22, features a cut to the top 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on an advancing team after 54 holes of play.

The Aggies have never had an individual finish higher than sixth place, but have put at least one golfer into the Top 25 six times since 2008.

This is Szeryk's second appearance at the NCAA Championship, shooting a 13-over 229 over three rounds in 2015, missing the cut by two strokes.
