COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M equestrian junior Avery Ellis was named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's Horsemanship Rider of the Year, it was announced Monday.

Ellis, who was also named the SEC Horsemanship Rider of the Year, posted a 13-4-1 record on the campaign with four Most Outstanding Player honors.

The College Station, Texas, native helped lead the Aggies to their 12th national championship by going 3-1 while earning the NCEA Championship MOP in Horsemanship.

The NCEA First Team All-American held an 11-meet unbeaten streak from Sept. 30 to March 11 and helped the Horsemanship squad to a 15-3 record.

Georgia's Meg O'Mara swept the hunt seat awards, winning both the NCEA Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Year and Equitation over Fences Rider of the Year and Oklahoma State's Hannah Mitchell was named the NCEA Reining Rider of the Year.
