Texas A&M junior golfer Maddie Szeryk was named First Team All-American on Tuesday by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. Szeryk is the first Aggie to be named First Team All-America since Julia Boland in 2010.
Szeryk set the Texas A&M single-season record with a 71.24 stroke average in 2016-17, finishing her season with a t-5th place finish at the SEC Championship and tying for 14th at the NCAA Championships. Szeryk finished in the Top 10 in 9 of her 12 events in 2017, posting six Top 5s.
Szeryk, who was a Second Team All-America selection in 2015, is the fifth Aggie to become a two-time All-American. Texas A&M golfers have earned a total 14 All-America honors, with 10 of those selections coming in the past 12 seasons.
