SUGAR GROVE, Illinois — Texas A&M sophomore Chandler Phillips opened play at the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship on Friday but was unable to complete his round as darkness fell over the course at Rich Harvest Farms.
Â
Phillips carded nine holes before play was suspended, leaving the Huntsville, Texas, native sitting at even par after a pair of birdies and two bogeys. Two weather delays, totaling three hours and one minute, contributed to half the field being unable to complete their opening round.
Â
First-round play will resume on Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. (CT), followed by second-round play beginning at 7:15 a.m. Results and live scoring are available at GolfStat.com.
