COLLEGE STATION—Texas A&M Athletics 12th Man Productions, led by assistant athletics director Andy Richardson '87, has earned a Bronze Telly Award for the weekly television production of The Beat.

"Our outstanding, award-winning staff takes great pride in telling the Aggie story of our student-athletes through the lens of The Beat," Richardson said. "We are excited to receive peer recognition for our efforts."

The Telly Awards honor the best in TV and Cable, Digital and Streaming as well as Non-Broadcast Productions. More than 13,000 entries are considered from every state and five continents and was founded in 1979 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable television.

The Beat is the spring television show highlighting Texas A&M spring sports and airs weekly on Fox Sports Southwest regionally and KBTX (Bryan-College Station) as well as on social media channels.

"Cade Key and Buddy Kimberlin really spearheaded the efforts to make the show a high level production with outstanding content and creativity that goes beyond just highlights," Richardson explained. "Several other staff members, including some student workers, were crucial to the success of the program."

The 12th Man Productions has done outstanding work including an award-winning show in 2009 on the 10th anniversary of the collapse of the Aggie Bonfire. The group also produces The Pulse, the weekly Aggie football show, which has been nominated twice for Emmy Awards and won in 2016.
