BEDMINSTER, N.J.- Texas A&M senior golfer Maddie Szeryk was one of the last six players added to this week's US Women's Open field. It is Szeryk's first appearance at the US Women's Open, and at any women's golf major championship.
Szeryk was the first alternate in qualifying at the Fort Worth sectional qualifier, and was informed on Monday that she had earned one of the final six spots in the 156-player field. This is her seventh career appearance as an amateur in an LPGA-sanctioned event.
Szeryk tees off at 7:57 a.m. CT on Thursday, July 13 in the first of four rounds of the event. Coverage of the event is on USGA.org and FS1.
