Trujillo, Peru – Four Aggies will compete in the Pan American Junior Championships this weekend as three represent the United States and one competes for the Bahamas.

The 19-and-under track and field competition will include three Texas A&M athletes who completed their freshman season with the Aggies – Serena Brown (Bahamas, discus), William Petersson (United States, javelin) and Jaevin Reed (United States, 400m, 4x400) – along with incoming freshman Gabriel Oladipo (United States, discus).

Reed currently ranks third on the 2017 world junior list in the 400m with her career best time of 51.52, which she set as the runner-up finisher in the final at the USATF Junior Championships. Brown ranks fourth on the world junior list in the discus with a season best of 186-6 (56.84), which placed her first at the SEC Relays and improved her national record for the Bahamas.

Petersson enters the meet with a career best of 225-4 (68.69) in the javelin while Oladipo produced a best of 215-2 (65.58) in the discus during his senior year of high school and won the USATF Junior title with a mark of 196-9 (59.97) using the junior implement. Among the entries for the Pan American Junior field, Petersson ranks third and Oladipo ranks fifth in their respective events.
