Trujillo, Peru – Texas A&M freshman Jaevin Reed picked up her second medal from the Pan American Junior Championships running on the United States 4x400 relay. The U.S. crew claimed gold in a meet record time of 3:28.57.

Reed, who earned a silver medal in the 400m final on Friday, ran the second leg on the 4x400 relay. The U.S. squad bettered the meet record of 3:29.67 set in 2007 by a United States squad that was anchored by Jessica Beard the summer before her freshman season with the Aggies.

Finishing behind the American 4x400 was Canada in 3:33.19 with Ecuador third at 3:46.57.

Incoming Aggie freshman Tyra Gittens nearly added a second medal to her Pan American Junior experience. After claiming a bronze medal in the long jump on Friday, Gittens placed fourth in the heptathlon with a score of 5,229 points.

Gittens, representing Trinidad & Tobago, was eight points shy of third place and 24 points behind the silver-medal position. Cuba's Adriana Rodriguez won the event with 5,733 points and was followed by Ariel Okorie of the United States (5,253) and Canada's Dallyssa Huggins (5,237).

In the men's javelin on Saturday, Aggie freshman William Petersson placed fifth with a throw of 216-0 (65.84).
