COLLEGE STATION – Coming off the program's 12th national championship, the Texas A&M equestrian team looks to defend its title with a challenging 2017-18 schedule, head coach Tana McKay announced Monday.

"We are very excited to get the new season underway," McKay said. "This schedule challenges us early and often and will prepare us for the SEC and NCEA Championships at the end of the season. We have a good group of returning starters coming back from last year's team, and I am looking forward to getting back to work for another national championship."

The Aggies begin the season with the annual Maroon & White Scrimmage on September 15, before kicking off the regular season in Fresno, Calif., with matchups against Fresno State and South Dakota State on September 22 and 23, respectively.

Texas A&M faces South Carolina in its first conference meet on September 29 at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. The Maroon and White travel to Georgia for an October 13 matchup against the Bulldogs, prior to a meeting with Delaware State in Dover on October 14.

The Aggies host TCU on October 26, and close out the fall home slate with a showdown against Auburn on November 3. A November 17 meeting at Oklahoma State wraps up the first half of the season.

On January 25, Texas A&M heads to TCU for the spring opener, and returns home for a February 3 meet against Fresno State. The Aggies then hit the road for back-to-back road SEC meets against South Carolina (Feb. 10) and Auburn (Feb. 17).

A pair of home meets versus Baylor (Feb. 24) and Georgia (March 10) close out the regular season for Texas A&M.

The 2018 SEC Championship is slated for March 30-31 in Blythewood, S.C., hosted by South Carolina. The 2018 NCEA Championship is held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas, April 19-21.

All home meets are held at the Hildebrand Equine Complex and admission is free.
