COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M Aggies return to Ellis Field Sunday for the first of their two preseason exhibition games as the Maroon and White host the Sam Houston State Bearkats  at 7 pm.

Texas A&M returns 14 letterwinners from the 2016 campaign, including nine of 12 starters (started at least 50% of A&M's matches). The returnees account for 24 of the Aggies' 27 goals from last season and the Maroon and White add the potent Ally Watt who redshirted last season while playing for the United States U20 Women's National Team. Texas A&M welcomes back All-American Mikaela Harvey, along with fellow All-SEC performer Haley Pounds and former SEC All-Freshman honorees Emily Bates, Grace Piper and Watt.

The Aggies finished the 2016 season with a 12-8-2 record. The Maroon and White appeared in their 22nd consecutive NCAA Division I Championship and advanced to the Second Round for the 19th consecutive year.

Sam Houston State returns 15 letterwinners, from a squad that finished 2-16-1 in 2016. Last year was an aberration for a Bearkats' squad that has racked up at least nine wins in seven of the last nine campaigns. Sam Houston State looks to replace their top two scorers on a squad that managed just 15 goals in 2016. Bailey Strong is the only returning player to log multiple goals last year, ending the year with two. The Bearkats feature a pair of College Station High School graduates, including junior goalkeeper Christina Hendershot and sophomore forward Lexi Bullard.

It is a ticketed event with purchases available at http://www.12thmanfoundation.com/ticket-center/soccer.aspx or at Ellis Field the evening of the match.
