EAST MEADOW, N.Y. --- The Texas A&M men's swimming team placed third in the 400-meter medley relay to highlight its day 5 action on Saturday at the 2017 U.S. Open Championships at the Nassau County Aquatics Center.
The Texas A&M foursome of junior Brock Bonetti, junior Jonathan Tybur, sophomore Mateo Gonzalez and freshman Adam Koster placed behind Alabama (3:39.11) and California (3:39.64) with a time of 3:40.01. The Aggies had the lead at the 350-meter mark, but couldn't hold off the hard-charging Crimson Tide and Golden Bears.
After four days of action in New York, the Aggie men stand third in the team race with 126 points. Cal leads with 207.5 points followed by Alabama (141), the Aggies and Missouri (115).
In other action involving the men's team:
