PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Texas A&M men's golf incoming freshman Walker Lee continued his strong play at the 117th United States Amateur Championship on Wednesday, notching a match play victory at Riviera Country Club to advance to the round of 32.

Lee (71-72=142, +2), who ended stroke play with a share of 35th place, defeated Kyle McClathchie of South Africa, 2 and 1, during the initial round of match play. With the victory, Lee advances to face Doc Redman of Raleigh, N.C., in a match that is slated to tee off at 11:15 a.m. (CT) Thursday morning. The U.S. Amateur Champion will be crowned during a final match of 36 holes on Sunday.

Texas A&M enjoyed a solid showing at the event as current Aggies Cameron Champ (77-77=147, -7) and Kavan Eubank (77-74=151, +11) as well as to recent graduate Adrià Arnaus (77-78=155, +15) took their swings in two rounds of stroke play but missed the cut as did recent A&M graduate transfer and current UTSA golfer Jake Goodman (80-72=152, +12).
