ARDMORE, Okla.- Texas A&M's women's golf team is in first place after the second round of The Lady Maxwell at Dornick Hills Country Club.
"We played well other than three holes, which are the same three holes that got us yesterday," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "They are ready to finish off this tournament tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring."
The Aggies shot a 14-over 298 on Saturday, bringing their tournament total to 588 (+20). The Aggies sit 11 strokes ahead of second-place Sam Houston State.
Courtney Dow led the Aggies on Saturday with a 1-under 70 on the par 71 / 6,120 yard course. Dow has a 36-hole total of 145 (+3). Amber Park shot a 3-over 74 on Saturday, moving to 146 (+4) for the tournament.
Maddie Szeryk shot a 5-over 76, and now is 5-over for the tournament at 147. Chloe Velasco shot a 7-over 78, and is 9-over for the tournament. Morgan Lay rounded out the Aggie lineup, shooting a 11-over 82 and is 14-over par for the event.
Playing as individuals, Ariana Saenz shot an 8-over 79, and is 8-over for the tournament. Elizabeth Caldarelli shot a 4-over 75 and is 10-over for the tournament. Mackenzie Matthews shot a 9-over 80, moving to 27-over.
