MADISON, Wisc. – The Aggies continue to top the leaderboard after 36 holes of the season-opening Badger Invitational at the University of Wisconsin Golf Course-University Range.

Texas A&M (276-284=560, -16) turned in a round of four-under as a team Monday to remain atop the 16-school leaderboard. The Aggies will enter Tuesday's final round with a six-shot edge over Marquette (-10), while Kansas (-8) and Notre Dame (-4) round out the top four teams in the standings.

"We're two rounds into the golf tournament and have the lead, so we're happy with that," Texas A&M assistant coach Brian Kortan said. "We got off to such a good start today, got the momentum going but then hit a tougher stretch of holes and didn't handle those very well. Lost our focus a little bit and it cost us a few shots. We need to clean that up, do better tomorrow and play all 18 holes."

Junior All-American Chandler Phillips (66-70=136, -8) is also in strong position to earn a win in the Badger State as the Huntsville, Texas, native shares the top spot on the player leaderboard with Andy Spencer of Kansas.

Texas A&M's lowest round of the day came from rookie Reese Ramsey (71-69=140, -4) who notched an eagle at No. 9 and five birdies on the day to card a three-under 69 and climb into a tie for sixth place.

Redshirt sophomore Brandon Smith (70-71=141, -3) also owns a spot in the top 10 with a share of eighth while Andrew Paysse (69-74=143, -1) and Walker Lee (74-77=151, +7) round out the A&M lineup in 18th and 58th, respectively.

Aggie sophomore Josh Gliege (70-72=142, -2) is tied for 13th as he competes in the event as an individual.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with the Aggies beginning to tee off alongside Kansas, Marquette and Notre Dame at 9:30 a.m. (CT). Results and live scoring can be found at Birdiefire.com with team updates on Twitter (@AggieMensGolf).
