COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M Equestrian team hosts its annual Maroon and White Scrimmage at 9 a.m. Friday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
Â
"We treat the scrimmage like a real meet," head coach Tana McKay said. "Obviously there isn't as much pressure as there normally would be in a typical meet, but our girls know that spots in the starting rotation are up for grabs. We are excited to see how our newcomers will perform as well as seeing how the returnees spent their offseason training. This scrimmage is huge for us, and they know what is on the line."
Â
Friday's scrimmage will be run like a regular-season meet in order to give the Aggies a final tune-up before traveling to Fresno, Calif., to face Fresno State and South Dakota State Sept. 22-23, respectively.
Â
This will be the first opportunity for fans to see the reigning NCEA National Champions in action as the Aggies return 10 starters from the 2016-17 squad.
