OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – The Texas A&M men's golf team holds third place after 36 holes at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational.

Texas A&M (281-285=566, +6) trails only Alabama (E) and Baylor (+3) on the 15-team leaderboard heading into Sunday's final round at Olympia Fields Country Club.

"The guys played their hearts out today. It was really tough," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "This course is just a monster so you can't let your guard down for one single shot because it will make you pay for it. I thought we did a really good job of managing our games and staying under control mentally and emotionally. The thing so far I've really liked about this team is you never know who's going to give you a great round because they're all capable."

Sophomore Josh Gliege (66-70=136, -4) continues to stand out among the top golfers at the event, holding a share of fourth place following a second round of even par.

Rookie Reese Ramsey (73-71=144, +4) owns a tie for 29th place after two rounds while a pair of Aggies appear in 32nd, Brandon Smith (74-71=145, +5) and Chandler Phillips (72-73=145, +5). Senior Andrew Paysse (70-76=146, +6) rounds out the Aggie lineup with a share of 37th.

"So far Josh has done a great job stepping up and being ready to play," added Higgins. "He had another great round today. He was three over early but came back with three birdies on the back to get even. He's having a great tournament and you throw in Brandon and Reese stepping up for us, it's been fantastic."

The Aggies will begin teeing off their final round at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on Sunday paired alongside Alabama and Baylor. Results and live scoring is available at golfstat.com as well as live updates via twitter at @AggieMensGolf.
