No. 15 Women’s Golf Shoots 6-Under In First Round At Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla.- No. 15 Texas A&M fired a 6-under 278 in the first round of the Schooner Fall Classic women's golf tournament on Saturday. The Aggies are one shot behind tournament leaders and host Oklahoma entering the second of two rounds.

NORMAN, Okla.- No. 15 Texas A&M fired a 6-under 278 in the first round of the Schooner Fall Classic women's golf tournament on Saturday. The Aggies are one shot behind tournament leaders and host Oklahoma entering the second of two rounds.
 
Two-time All-American Maddie Szeryk led the Aggies, and is one of three co-leaders of the tournament, with a 4-under 67 on the par 71 / 6,046 yard Belmar Golf Course. Szeryk has shot under-par in her last five rounds, and is looking for her third straight Top 4 finish in this tournament.
 
Chloe Velasco is tied for fifth after shooting a career-best 3-under 68. Amber Park was the third Aggie under par on Saturday, firing a 1-under 70, her second straight under-par round, to tie for 13th. Courtney Dow shot a 2-over 73 to tie for 34th and Elizabeth Caldarelli shot an 11-over 82 to tie for 77th.
 
The 6-under score is the Aggies' best round of the young season, and Texas A&M's third time under-par in seven rounds on the season.
