COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With high expectations for the upcoming 2017-18 campaign, the Texas A&M men's basketball team opened practice at Reed Arena on Monday.
Â
The Aggies are little over a month away from opening the season at Ramstein Air Base in Germany where they face West Virginia during State Farm Armed Forces Classic (Nov. 10). Texas A&M's home opener will take place a week later on Nov. 17 when it welcomes UCSB to Aggieland.
Â
Prior to the start of the season, Texas A&M will celebrate the coming basketball campaign during Maroon Madness, presented by Pepsi, on Oct. 26 inside Reed Arena.
Â
The Aggies, who have drawn off-season Top 25 attention from multiple media outlets, are set to return one of the SEC's formidable rosters to the hardwood for the 2017-18 campaign as A&M brings back four starters and 10 total players, representing 82.3 percent of the Aggies' total scoring output.
Â
Highlighted by Tyler Davis and Robert Williams, who each garnered second-team all-league honors a year ago, the Aggies stand out as the only SEC program to return more than one All-SEC performers. Both players were honored as Preseason All-Americans by NBC Sports last week with Williams selected to the third team and Davis named an honorable mention.
Â
Additionally, the Maroon & White will be boosted by the return of veteran contributors Admon Gilder, DJ Hogg and Tonny Trocha-Morelos as well as a slew of talented newcomers ready to make their mark on the court.
