COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M equestrian's Rebekah Chenelle and Avery Ellis were named NCEA September Riders of the Month, the association announced Tuesday.

Chenelle was awarded the Equifit Equitation on the Flat and Equitation over Fences Rider of the Month honors, while Ellis was named the Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month.

In Flat, Chenelle posted a 3-0 record with an MOP and scored a 93, the team's second-highest score this season, against South Dakota State and No. 7 South Carolina. The Hebron, Conn., native earned two MOPs in Fences in September en route to a perfect 3-0 record. Chenelle posted a team-high score of 88 against the Gamecocks' Lizzie van der Walde and led the Hunt Seat team, who outscored its opponents 24-4, to an undefeated September.

Ellis recorded a perfect 2-0 mark in Horsemanship, while posting an average score of 76.75. The College Station native defeated her opponents by an average score of 10.25, and scored a 77 against Fresno State, makring the fifth time she has scored a 77 or higher in her career.

Top-ranked Texas A&M (3-0, 1-0 SEC) travels to No. 2 Georgia on October 13 at 10 a.m. CT at the UGA Equestrian Center.
