Texas A&M’s Vacherot to Play for ITA All-American Consolation Draw Title

TULSA, Okla. – Texas A&M men's tennis sophomore Valentin Vacherot advanced to the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Consolation Finals with a three-set victory over No. 32 Nathan Ponwith of Georgia Sunday afternoon.
 
The 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory was the highest ranked win in the right-hander's career, setting up a showdown with No. 59 Johannes Ingildsen of Florida on Monday. Vacherot, a native of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, picked up his third ranked win in as many days and fourth of his career. 
 
With the semifinal win, Vacherot secured a berth into the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 1-5, in Palm Desert, California.
 
The University of Tulsa is hosting the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championship for the 13th straight season, with matches taking place on the courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
