Alston Named to TDS National Team of the Week

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M sophomore defender Briana Alston was named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week announced Tuesday.

 

Alston helped Texas A&M keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 victory against Ole Miss last Friday, playing all 90 minutes as a center back. The Maroon & White held the league's top offense to just four shots-on-goal in the win.

 

In her first year in College Station, the sophomore transfer ranks third on the squad in minutes played with 1,180 in the books playing every minute of her 13 starts. Alston has helped the Aggies rack up six shutouts on the season with a 0.69 goals-against average.

 

Alston is the third Aggie to be recognized by TopDrawerSoccer joining Jimena Lopez (Aug. 21) and Cienna Arrieta (Sept. 24).

 

On the season, Texas A&M is 12-2-1 overall with a 7-1-0 record in league play.
