Texas A&M Swimming & Diving teams battle Auburn Tigers

AUBURN, Ala. -- The Texas A&M men's and women's swimming and diving teams will take on the Auburn Tigers in dual meet action at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Auburn's Martin Aquatics Center.

Texas A&M women's head coach Steve Bultman:
"Auburn is definitely a good team. We missed them last year when our meet was cancelled due to the snow storm in Atlanta so we decided we needed to make it up this year because they're a great team and great competition for us. We had a great start to the season last week, but there's always things you'd like to do better so it's nice to be able to get back in the water and address those problems the next week."

Texas A&M men's head coach Jay Holmes:
"Auburn has a great tradition in swimming and diving, and our team is looking forward to the challenge. There will be lots of interesting matchups on Saturday that could go either way. I'm not sure how it's going to flush out, but I know it's going to be a great college dual meet where who out-touches who and depth are going to be the difference."

• The Aggie men are coming off a season-opening sweep of Michigan State and No. 17 Notre Dame last weekend in South Bend, Ind. The Aggies defeated the Spartans, 98-64, with a sweep of all nine events on Friday. In the two-day dual against the Irish, the Aggies won 10-of-18 events on the way to a 193.5-159.5 victory.
• The Texas A&M women's team swept all nine events against the Spartans for a 98-62 victory last Friday. In the two-day affair with the Irish, the Aggies were victorious in 14-of-18 events for an impressive 211-136 team victory.
