SAN ANTONIO- Texas A&M senior Maddie Szeryk shot a 2-under 70 to sit in a tie for fourth place individually after the first of three rounds at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational at Briggs Ranch Golf Club. The Aggies shot an 8-over 296 as a team, tying for seventh place.
Arkansas leads the tournament after shooting a 7-under 281 on Sunday. Connie Jaffrey of Kansas State leads all individuals with a 6-under 66. The Aggies are only two strokes back of fourth-place UTSA, the tournament hosts.
Szeryk shot par-or-better for the seventh time in her last eight rounds. She had five birdies in the round, the second-most in the tournament on Sunday.
Texas A&M freshmen Morgan Lay and Amber Park each shot a 3-over 75 on the par 72 / 6,450 yard course, tying for 29th. Junior Chloe Velasco shot a 4-over 76 to tie for 42nd.
Sophomore Courtney Dow shot a 7-over 79, but played the back nine at even par to tie for 58th. Playing as an individual, Texas A&M freshman Elizabeth Caldarelli shot a 3-over 75, and is tied for 29th place.
